Yesterday we had a small family outing to visit the Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary in Schaumburg, This has become a favorite place to visit on weekends for our family. I could not walk too far my foot hurt quite a bit and from the entrance on Plum Grove Road only made it to the creek in the center of the park. We took a break there and sat on the bench and by the creek, all of the sudden the breeze, the sound of the gentle rushing waters and peace engulfed me. I realized how much I am blessed as much as I covet more and desire more things God has granted me all that I need. I thought of this song ;

I think I have been through so much in life, however not as much as the writer of this song that lost everything including the lives of his four daughters, but gave thanks and had other children.

We can find peace when we look for it and desire it, yesterday it was by the river.
