Last Sunday before the protests of the North Lawndale neighborhood in Chicago, I got a chance to worship with the church at Harmony Baptist Community Church, and I for sure felt united to the brothers and sisters there. Pastor Brooks to me was a very powerful holy man.

For the last several months I have given myself a treat. I live a very busy life I manage a company, I am trying to get a photography business of the ground, I have a young family and honestly I have very little time for myself. On Friday mornings I have a ritual, I go to the McDonald’s Restaurant on Clark Avenue across from Wrigley Field. I have breakfast and for 30 minutes I think about baseball and sometimes read my bible. I feel that this time is sacred God and Baseball, this has become a ritual for me. Do you have a ritual?
Chicago is a very surprising city. I love its diversity, its neighborhoods and above all its architecture. It has an old world charm but in an American city. In a quiet corner of Chicago’s Humboldt Park and Ukrainian Village neighborhoods the Ukrainian Autocepholous Orthodox Cathedral is located. For many years I have walked or driven by. I have no information about this church building or its members but I think this wonderful testament of how wonderful Chicago is.
