“In the ninth inning and after a grand slam from the visiting team you must come out and play” – Last night I went to the Cubs vs Reds game and the Cubs lost on a ninth inning grand slam by the Reds. Most people left and the bottom of the ninth went 1,2,3. This image of the last batter with a almost empty backdrop. I think of parallels in my life where it feels the same. I feel very blessed that ‘i have found happiness and a loving family that have giving new opportunities to renew myself. “Thanks be to God who leads us in triumphant procession”
On January 10th 2014 as I walking to my car during a freezing rain episode I slipped on the road and pretty much destroyed my foot. During the last week I have spent many hours in the hospital and after many Xray’s and CAT scans it has been determined that I need major surgery to reconstruct my left foot and many hours of physical therapy.
I know the long road ahead in this first part of 2014 is going to be hard but I am filled with optimism and hope that this injury will afford me the time to think of new strategies to improve many areas of my life and become a better person and a better husband and father.
I thank God that I did not lose my life in this accident and it did not happened to my beautiful wife.
I am so grateful for all the support I have gotten in the last week.
This week as we thank God that only two people died on the Asiana Airlines crash, I want to remember another airline crash, this one was in Puerto Rico in 1986. My mother Sylvia happened to be sitting in first class and suffered some injuries. I happened to come across this video of the event.
