I went to the Chicago International Salsa Congress last Saturday and it was a night that I parted with my cameras and just took my Iphone. The results are images of people simply dancing and one of biggest salsa stars Charlie Aponte of Gran Combo fame which were delightful to look at. As a photographer I know they were very pixelated however they did justice to the cause. Enjoy!
Several months ago I met Roy McGrath at an activity for the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center in Chicago. I like the intensity, the sharpness of the music he play, I like that crosses musical styles. But above all he is a leader in the music world and workhorse.
I find Roy very fascinating to photograph.
This is part two on my Las Vegas photo shoot. This images were taken with my Iphone 5s and one with Nikon d600(Guess which one it is). I stayed at the Caesars Palace Resort at first, I thought It was over the top at first, but as I let the architecture of the pool area settle in my mind, I decided to post this pictures and share with you the incredible feat of architecture to create this roman atmosphere. Enjoy!
I just came back from a 3 day trip to Las Vegas for a medical billing conference. It was a wonderful trip got a lot of knowledge into the changing world of medical billing and pain management. I was able for the first time to take my big camera along. Yes I took the big bag and that was a hassle but I did it. I decided before the trip that I was going to have a different focus. I focused on everyday folks workers, homeless, gamblers and regular workers. To me its a different perspective. The majority of the images were taken on a walk from the Caesars Palace hotel to the MGM Grand hotel along Las Vegas Boulevard. To me it was mind boggling to think about the amount of people in this avenue that has become one America’s landmarks. Enjoy!
Yesterday Lorena and my family celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary at Nellie’s Restaurant on Division Street in Humboldt Park. I could not feel prouder than celebrating my wife the love of my life at Nellie’s. Chef Victor’s shared the experience of his life with me and I realize that I have a lot in common with this man who owns a house in the Villa Palmera’s neighborhood of Santurce, Puerto Rico where I grew up. This made it so much more special. I feel extremely blessed to be married to a Latin American family an proud that Nellie’s restaurant upholds the Puerto Rican culture to its highest level in Humboldt Park.
By the way Victor makes the best omelets!
